Finishing Up What I Started - Days 27-31 - Photo A Day Challenge

Ah, laziness. Admittedly, I have no other excuse for not blogging the past few days. We returned from a great trip to Florida on Monday, but I've spent the past two nights half asleep on the couch and half watching television. (Hello, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion.) I began drafting a lengthy post on why I chose to become a stay-at-home mom, so stay tuned for that. Eventually I will complete and publish it.

In the meantime, let me dip my toes back in the blogging water by completing last month's Photo A Day Challenge. Believe it or not, there is one for February, and I actually plan to take part it in, even though my efforts left a bit to be desired at the end of January. But without further ado....

Day 27: Lunch

Without fail, I've forgotten to take a photo of my lunch the past six days. So instead, here's a pic of some blueberries, which I enjoyed as an early afternoon snack today. (And technically, considering I ate my actual lunch around 10:30 a.m., this could be considered lunch.) It was a blazing 62 degrees today and these blueberries felt like summer in my mouth.

Day 28: Light

In yet another use of creative license, above is a photo I took at dusk while on a run in Tampa. Dusk is my absolute favorite time of day as I love the light of the sky at that time.

Day 29: Inside Your Fridge

Inside our fridge - lots of yogurt (James, Sammy and I each prefer a different brand of yogurt), milk, juice, three bottles of wine, spinach, brussel sprouts, eggs (which I discovered today expired two weeks ago), aforementioned blueberries, heavy cream, creme fraiche, lots of unsalted butter, James' favorite olives, a package of store-bought baby food (leftover from our trip to Florida), tahini paste, mustard, and many other condiments that are not pictured. Not to mention some cheese, meats, fruit, etc. in the drawers.

It may not seem like much, but considering that during my single days my fridge often contained only tortillas, cheese and a bottle of vodka, our current fridge might as well be a Super Stop and Shop.

Day 30: Nature

Our once-pretty hydrangeas, mid-winter. Sigh....

Day 31: You, Again

Self portrait with my boy, who can not resist looking at himself in the iPhone. And yes, I now officially have "mom hair."
