Like most moms, my diaper bag serves as my purse. And I actually have a super cute diaper bag that I love, but it's a bit bulky and heavy, and I've found that my old Longchamp has been much easier to tote (no pun intended), especially on quick trips. But let's take a closer look at what's inside. It's quite glamorous, as I'm sure you can imagine. In no particular order....
- A single diaper (Um yeah, I need to add a few more to this bag.)
- My wallet
- A teething carrot (Which is now a close second to Sammy's ultimate favorite toy, Sophie. But Sophie never gets put in the bag - she's either in Sammy's mouth or in his car seat waiting for him.)
- A pen
- Vasoline (I use this instead of regular lip balm.)
- Two of Sammy's winter hats (One is a pug head, and the other is a football - both are obviously adorable on Sammy.)
- Skip Hop changing pad (Love this!)
- Two packs of wipes
- My sunglass case
- An Alvin and the Chipmunks figurine (I believe Auntie Kate received this in a McDonald's happy meal, and kindly donated it to Sammy.)
- A pair of Sammy's mittens
- Boogie Wipes (These might be the equivalent of a bottle or wipes warmer, in that they're one of those frou frou items that are not really necessary, but I am obsessed with them. They're soft and the saline dries up everything inside the nose. Sammy and I were both sick the past couple weeks, and I may have used more of them on myself than I did on him.)
- A large Ziplock plastic bag (For dirty diapers. This reminded me that I need to restock my bag with these, which I usually use for dirty diapers.)
- A binkie (Sammy hasn't used a binkie in ages - and yet having one available just makes me feel more secure.)
- Binkie / pacifier wipes (I can honestly say that this package has never been opened.)
- Aquaphor
- On-the-go Similac (I'll usually make up a bottle before we go out if Sammy is going to need to eat, but I always keep one of these on-the-go bottles and an extra nipple [not pictured] in my bag, just in case. It's been a lifesaver more than a few times.)
- Itzy Ritzy Wet Bag (This is my bag-in-a-bag, in which I store everything needed to change Sammy's diaper. It makes it easier for me to find what I need in the non-pocketed Longchamp, plus, as it's a wet bag, if I ever need to carry something wet [and likely gross], I can just use this.)
So that's it! Is it weird that I don't have any make-up in my bag? (Though I usually at least have lip gloss. Not sure where that went....) I can't imagine the disaster this bag will be once Sammy starts eating more and snacking....
o.m.g. overload! then again I guess not all that stuff could fit into a Vera Bradley satchel...
