What I've Been Up To

Just yesterday, I was telling my mom that I seriously don't understand how bloggers are able to write / publish new posts regularly, never mind every day. (Those that do, I give a ton of credit. And also blame for my lack of blogging as I've somehow found time to still read all my favorite blogs.)

This week, I've been particularly bad, and the thought of needing to publish a new post has been lingering over my head in almost a shameful way. I also am super late on getting up my "Sammy is Seven Months!" post, but I'll blame that on some computer issues. (We won't even get into the fact that I've clearly quit the "Photo a Day" challenge....)

So what have I been up to this week?

We've had gorgeous weather and I enjoyed a few outdoor runs. The warm temps have me super excited for Spring and Summer running, and thus I pinned this top, which looks to be somewhat flattering and non-clingy. (Somehow I've still managed a lot of Pinterest this week.)

We took more advantage of the warmer temps and spent one afternoon at the park. I'm so happy that my kid loves to swing!

Part of the reason I haven't blogged is I am absolutely exhausted by the end of each day now that Sammy is army crawling / scooching everywhere. I find myself sweeping and washing the floor more than ever, and when I'm not doing that, I'm chasing him in an attempt to keep him somewhat contained.

(I left the door open on one particularly warm day - big mistake.)

Speaking of cleaning, this week I worked on incorporating more finger foods into Sammy's eating schedule.

Pictured above: mixed veggies, hard-boiled egg yolk, and tofu. You can imagine how much of that ended up in places other than Sammy's mouth....

In other Sammy news, he has two new obsessions this week - his Leap Frog music table (best investment ever!), and squealing. I'll spare you (and your hearing) the video of his high-pitched screams, and instead share a few pics of the next Johann Sebastian Bach.

One day Queenie, Sammy and I took a road trip to visit Auntie Kate in Hingham, MA. We had a fun lunch at The Square Cafe, which had a super cute French-bistro like atmosphere. (The photo below is from this site.)

It's my favorite time of year at Stop and Shop - the 2 for $5 daffodil sale!

I finally convinced James to repaint our master bedroom. Remember this post, where I talked about how much I loathed our bedroom paint color? Well it's now the much overdone Silver Sage, but I absolutely love it. The room feels so much calmer, more spacious and sunny. We've still got a lot of work to do to the room design-wise, but this was a major start.

Also making me happy is this small silver tray on my nightstand, which my mother-in-law sent us home with after our visit to New Jersey last weekend.

I began reading this book this week, and had a hard time putting it down, even though by the time I got to it each night, I needed toothpicks to keep my eyes open.

I also somehow found time to watch my usual Bravo line-up, including the season premiere of Bethenny.

Over the course of a few days, I completed my next Tuesdays with Dorie assignment. Here's a sneak peek.

And finally, this week my family said good-bye to a long-time friend. But as tough as it was, just a couple days later, James and I learned of a new addition who will be joining some of our best friends later on this year. It was the absolute best way to end this week.
